How we verify every figure
Visa rules change. Income bars move when minimum wages are updated, fees get revised, programs open and close. A figure copied from a two-year-old blog post can cost you a rejected application — so here is exactly how we keep NomadVisa Hub accurate.
1. Official sources only
Every income threshold, application fee, processing time and duration on this site traces back to an official source: the immigration authority, consulate or government gazette of the issuing country. We never copy figures from other blogs, and we never publish a number we cannot source.
2. Every page carries its own verification date
Each country guide shows the exact date its figures were last checked against official sources. If a page says "verified October 2026", that is when a human confirmed the numbers — not when the page was first written.
3. Minimum-wage-pegged bars get special treatment
Several programs peg their income bar to a multiple of the national minimum wage — Spain uses 200% of the SMI, Portugal a multiple of its minimum wage. When the underlying wage is updated (usually yearly), the visa bar moves with it. We re-check these programs whenever the wage changes, not just on a fixed schedule.
4. What we do when sources conflict
Consulates sometimes publish different figures from the central immigration authority. When that happens we publish the official national figure, note the discrepancy on the country page, and advise confirming with the consulate where you will actually apply.
5. What we will never do
- Invent income thresholds, fees or processing times.
- Present estimates as official figures.
- Rank programs on paid placement — our rankings use published data only.
- Leave a changed program uncorrected once we know about it.
6. Found an error?
Immigration rules move fast and we are a small team. If you spot a figure that does not match the official source, tell us with a link to the source and we will re-verify within 48 hours.
The data behind the rankings
Our composite ranking of all 44 programs — the NomadVisa Index — is built from these verified figures. See the NomadVisa Index 2026.
